activity1.8 Looking at icons

 

iconsThey say a picture is worth a thousand words. Look at the icons to the right. Do you know what they all stand for? Is it obvious without any additional text? Can you think of any other common icons that you see on web pages?

In a small group, visit some shopping retail websites and consider how the site makes use of icons to accompany the text.

Discuss whether the icons are clear. Is it obvious what they stand for without having to read the text? Find out how large these icons are in terms of actual file size and physical dimensions.

Discuss the intended audience and purpose. How fit for purpose are they? Are they appropriate for the intended audience? Are there any features you particularly like? Are there features that you do not like?

Save a screenshot to your Process folder.
