Introduction4.1 Design Elements

Design elements for page layout add visual interest and help readers navigate textual information. They often take the form of vector graphics such as lines and rectangles that may be grouped or coloured for impact. Design elements also include graphics like artistic text used for headings.

Serif PagePlus has a Drawing toolbar with features that allow you to create and customise such design elements within the program itself, so that you don't have to use separate vector drawing software to achieve these effects. Add them sparingly and be consistent: for example, by using the same style for pull quote boxes, or for lines under headings throughout.
