Who What WhereOK, so you've done lots of research into similar products to those in your brief and your head is buzzing with bright ideas. What's the next step? Well, it's is not to open your bitmap or vector software to start creating your own end products, but to spend time developing a whole range of possible initial designs.

There are many techniques to help you get started, the important thing is to go with as many different ideas as possible – don't focus down too soon and don't restrict yourself to just one or two starting points.

Always make a note of your ideas in your process book, even if you think you won't use them.
